From five-day periods throughout the course of an \"average\" year for a given season, an annual average was calculated. For the seasons (winter, spring, summer, and fall), climatological average SSTs were produced. To make a seasonal climatological average, the mean SSTs for January 1-5, January 6-10, and so on, are calculated. The mean SST derived from the 5-day periods in each season from 1982 through 2009 are then averaged. Data from the Version 5.0 and 5.1 Pathfinder data with quality flag values of 4 through 7 (\"good\" through \"best\" quality) are used in the averages.\nMeasurements are in degrees Celsius. Seasons are as follows: Fall (October - December), Winter (January - March), Spring (April - June), Summer (July - September).", "summary": "", "title": "Sea Surface Temperatures - Remotely Sensed", "tags": [ "sea surface temperature", "advanced very high resolution radiometer", "avhrr", "water temperature" ], "type": "Map Service", "typeKeywords": [ "Data", "Service", "Map Service", "ArcGIS Server" ], "thumbnail": "thumbnail/thumbnail.png", "url": "", "extent": [ [ -97.8911109995723, 17.0762593837644 ], [ -78.9650857868789, 31.9549159372216 ] ], "spatialReference": "WGS_1984_Web_Mercator_Auxiliary_Sphere", "accessInformation": "Kenneth S.
