Service Description: 'Hot spot' analysis of red grouper, red snapper, and vermilion snapper catch-per-unit-effort (CPUE) based on observer coverage of the U.S. Gulf of Mexico bottom longline fishery from 2007 through 2013 (7,201 sets made during 272 trips). For confidentiality purposes, data were aggregated into 15-minute longitude by latitude blocks and the average CPUE per block was calculated. The 'hot spot', or Getis-Ord Gi* statistic, is used to detect clusters of high or low catch CPUE values.
