The purpose of the data is to support Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary (FKNMS) benthic habitat mapping and research planning efforts for improved spatial and fishery ecosystem management. The data consists of multibeam data sets that contain bathymetric and in some areas backscatter data. The data in this segment were collected on the NOAA RVs Thomas Jefferson and Nancy Foster between 2004 and 2018. All data products produced are supplied as ready to use products for a Geographic Information System (GIS) and CARIS, projected in Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) 17 N, North American Datum 1983 (NAD83) and vertically reduced to Mean Lower Low Water (MLLW). |
