This GeoTiff is a model from the principle component analysis (PCA) of the seafloor of Northeast Puerto Rico that contains the shallow water area (0-30m deep) of the Northeast Ecological Reserve: including the waters off of Fajardo and Luqillo, to the Former Roosevelt Roads Navy Base, the Vieques Sound, La Cordillera Reserve, the Luis Pena Reserve, and the waters around Culebra Island. The PCA was created using Envi 5.1 imagery analysis by combining the morphometric derivatives of the bathymetry and statistically analyzing the variance and spatial complexity of the seafloor to create the model. The source bathymetry model was produced by merging soundings from several different sources, including high resolution coastal LiDAR, NOAA multibeam bathymetry, and historical lead line soundings. The PCA provided the biogeography with the data to delineate the different benthic habitats of the NER. |
