The Landscape Development Intensity Index (LDI) was calculated by assigning a weighted value to each land use type in the NOAA C-CAP land cover data (2012) to represent relative cumulative impact to runoff. Highest coefficients are assigned to impervious surfaces (e.g. paved roads) and lowest coefficients to the least developed patches of vegetation (most able to reduce runoff). The area of each land use type were then summed for sub-watersheds to calculate a relative impact for each individual sub-watershed. |
