Display Field:

Type: Raster Layer

Geometry Type: null

Description: Annual distribution map for the juvenile stage of blacktip shark produced by fitting geostatistical binomial generalized linear mixed models (GLMMs) to encounter/non-encounter data from a large monitoring database for the US Gulf of Mexico (US GOM). This database integrates life stage data for 61 fish and invertebrate species and functional groups collected by 27 fisheries-independent and 7 fisheries-dependent programs during the period of 2000-2016. Maps depicting the spatial distribution of predicted probability of encounter for each species and functional group were first produced for each year from 2000-2015 and then averaged to generate the maps shown here.
